Reproductive Rights
I support a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her reproductive health, including birth control and abortion. The majority of Americans, especially women, do not support strict abortion limitations. If the only avenue to protect reproductive rights is an amendment to the Florida Constitution, then so be it. If the Florida legislature seeks a compromise position regarding the number of weeks that unrestricted abortion should be allowed, somewhere around 14 weeks of gestation, I would be able to support that also, with exceptions to those time frames for fetal abnormalities, endangerment of the health of the mother, and rape and incest victims. Most importantly, these are medical decisions and should never be subject to criminal law. Healthcare providers and patients should never fear criminal prosecution in making reproductive decisions.
